Declan Sander

Analyst

Declan Sander is an analyst at Builders VC, where he backs founders working on food systems, community health infrastructure, and resource efficiency.

Before Builders, Declan was an Analyst at Alpaca VC in New York, investing across PropTech, AgTech, and supply chain. He has also held various other roles, including time on the trading floor at RBC Capital Markets, rotating through corporate foreign exchange, natural gas, and electricity trading.

Declan co-founded Birchbark Health, a TELUS Health-backed, Indigenous-led nonprofit building community health capacity across Canada, and serves as its Treasurer. He is also Treasurer of Amnesty International Canada's English Speaking Section board.

He holds a BComm in Finance from the University of Calgary, where he earned the gold medal for the highest GPA in his graduating class. He rowed for the Dinos and is training to race at Henley Royal Regatta.
